A set of lantern slides that was found among the glass plate negatives in the collection of Makerere University. All of the slides seems to have been made for the Church Missionary Society. Some of these photographs show up in other publications, for instance Dr. Cook’s ‘Uganda Memories’.
Some of the pictures in this album are constructions of the positive transparency and the slide as an image object carrying a caption. Others are scans. The choice for one or the other was made based on the presence of the caption, the quality of the picture, and in some cases the absence of one or the other mode of reproduction.
